Most 'best of' lists for game-server hosts follow paid placements. This one doesn't.
We started this because we kept seeing the same hosts at the top of every comparison page, regardless of what the actual reviews said. The pattern was obvious: rankings followed paid placements, not user experience. That made the whole category feel useless if you were trying to find a host for a real modpack and not get screwed.
The fix is just to publish the data. We pull the public review record, score satisfaction from the review text itself, and pair every host with the PassMark single-thread benchmark of the CPU they actually deploy. Three numbers, one weighting, one ranking. The same formula for every host — no exceptions.
Modpacks live or die on single-thread CPU performance, so we weight that explicitly. Customer experience dominates the rest. If the data says a host is #5 today, that's where they sit. If their reviews improve, the ladder updates on the next refresh — automatically.
